Under the blue sky, nowadays people in the world are facing many environmental problems, for example air pollution. What contributes to the pollution and what should we do to improve the present situation?
What causes it?
With the development of industry, more and more
poisonous gases are emitted in the air. But the directors of those factories still don't' take measures to reduce the pollution because they want to make a
fortune. They may have never thought that the pollution is not only harmful to others but also to themselves.
In order to make paper,
chopsticks (which are just used one time), and other things, people have cut down many trees while they wont' plant trees after that, so the water and
soil are running away and trees aren't able to improve the air pollution.
On top of the two reasons that I have listed above, there are many other causes such as
burning plastic bags and straw.
Solutions
• The government should make laws, which forbid the factories from pouring polluted water into the river and letting polluted gas out.
• People can plant trees to improve the air and keep the water and soil from running away.
• Reduce to use plastic bags and make full use of straw.
People, Eastern or Western, rich or poor, should try our best to
prevent our environment from being further
damaged, so we can enjoy ourselves under the blue sky.
People like to spend Christmas with the closest relatives and the most important activity of Christmas is Christmas Eve supper. The whole family just together around the table, and there are twelve traditional dishes on the table and you should taste them all, because if you don't try any of them you may face some misfortune in the following year. Well, before everybody sits down to eat the supper, we just break waters with each other, wishing each other good luck. When the supper is over, the children go to the other room, the big Christmas tree stands there, and they find some Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. After the supper, the whole family just sit around the table singing Christmas carols and waiting for midnight, then they go to church.
There are many interesting things in the world, such as some customs in different countries. For example, introduction, social behavior, food, and so on.
Firstly, they are different in the introduction. In Greece, shaking your head means yes and nodding means no. In America, it's the other way round! In Japan and Korea, it is not polite to look someone in the eyes.
Secondly, they are different in the social behaviors. In most cultures, waving can mean either hello or goodbye. Japanese people greet each other by bowing.
Hugging and kissing is only for close family or friends. People in European countries such as Italy often greet each other with a kiss on both cheeks. Even men greet each other like this. In some cultures, it is customary to kiss on the check three times. But when you're not sure what the customs are in a new country, there's one greeting that is the same all over the world: a smile. Everyone understands a smile so don't be scared to use it.
Finally, there are different in eating. Chinese people like to eat rice and noodles and dumplings. And they use chopsticks to eat this. But people in Thailand like to use a fork and spoon to eat noodles.
I am very interested in these customs. I hope I can travel all over the world when I grow up.
